AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON PARTIAL DISCHARGES CHARACTERISTICS OF NATURAL RUBBER BLENDS AS ELECTRICAL INSULATING MATERIAL

Pict shows the phenomena of electrical treeing in a cable where lead to BREAKDOWN. This is because due to partial discharges activities.. Thats why it is very important to study!

Project Outline (sem 1):

· Literature review on partial discharges mechanism, detection, measurement

· Literature review on experimental method and analysis of partial discharges

· Literature review on natural rubber blends

· Simulating and analyzing electrical field distribution, using QuickField 5.6

· Development of experimental setup, using Cigre Method II

· Studying and designing data acquisition system, using LabVIEW 8.5.1

· Development and fabricating test samples, LLDPE-natural rubber blend

· Studying manual operation of XRD machine and learn how to assemble
